① In terms of raw material conditions.

The scrap steel used in electric furnace steelmaking often requires the use of lightweight materials, pressed blocks, and other raw materials, which can easily lead to high feed rates and thermal shutdown, resulting in significant heat loss. In the case of insufficient loading, a second feeding is required, and in some cases, there have been instances of three feeding, which has also increased heat loss. Each additional charge (with an average charge time of 5 minutes) increases power consumption by approximately 7-12kW-h/t. In addition, after raw material cleaning, it was found that C and P were relatively high. When entering the oxidation period, the removal of C and P will require a longer time and higher energy consumption.

② In terms of operator skills.

③ The limitations of objective conditions.

④ Other unexpected accidents.

If the operator operates improperly and breaks the electrode, a large amount of heat will be lost during the electrode processing. When entering the reduction period to take the reduction sample, if the composition is found to be unqualified, secondary oxidation must be carried out, which will also consume a lot of heat energy. In the smelting process, the middling coal oxygen burner leaks water, which interrupts the melting aid; When hanging materials on the furnace wall, it is necessary to open the furnace cover for processing, which to varying degrees delays the smelting time and increases heat loss.
