In extreme operating equipment such as aircraft engine blades, nuclear power plant pressure vessels, and deep-sea detector casings, the purity and uniformity of metal materials directly determine their service life and reliability.

As a "pure alchemy" in the field of special metallurgy, electric slag furnaces reshape ordinary steel into "super metals" with a sulfur content of less than 0.001% and small and dispersed inclusions through three core technologies: slag isolation from air, electric current heating melting, and water-cooled crystallization. Their annual output has exceeded one million tons and become the core supporting equipment for high-end equipment manufacturing.

The Internet of Things technology is reshaping the production mode of electric slag furnaces.


The intelligent electric slag furnace system deployed by a certain enterprise integrates infrared thermometers, laser displacement sensors, and online spectral analyzers, which can monitor the slag pool temperature, electrode consumption rate, and steel ingot composition in real time.

When an abnormal increase of 10% in the resistivity of the slag pool is detected, the system automatically adjusts the current parameters and starts the slag replenishment program, reducing the slag inclusion defect rate of the steel ingot from 0.8% to 0.05%.

In terms of energy management, a production line adopts a waste heat recovery device to raise the temperature of the crystallizer cooling water from 80 ℃ to 120 ℃, driving the organic Rankine cycle power generation system and saving 1200 tons of standard coal annually.

By combining machine learning algorithms, the device can predict the trend of electrode consumption rate and slag shell thickness changes, and provide 24-hour advance warning of electrode replacement requirements, thereby improving production continuity by 95%.
