The LF ladle refining furnace is mainly composed of a ladle, a ladle car and towing cable, a furnace cover, an electrode lifting mechanism, a short net, a water cooling system, a hydraulic system, an argon gas system, an electric furnace transformer, a high-voltage system, and an electrical automation system.

The LF ladle refining furnace has various metallurgical functions, mainly including:

Desulfurization: Deep desulfurization through high alkalinity slag and reducing atmosphere to eliminate the adverse effects of sulfur on steel, such as thermal brittleness.

Deoxygenation: Aluminum deoxidation combined with diffusion deoxidation achieves deep deoxidation and reduces the oxygen content in steel.

Alloying: Accurately adding alloy fine-tuning components to meet the requirements of steel grades for alloy elements.

Temperature adjustment: precise control of temperature through arc heating to meet the requirements of continuous casting process.

Removing inclusions: promoting the floating removal of inclusions through gas stirring to improve the purity of molten steel.
