LF ladle refining furnace is a device that uses electric arc heating to refine molten steel outside the furnace under normal pressure.
The key equipment in modern steel production processes is to achieve metallurgical functions such as deoxidation, desulfurization, and alloying through slag making and gas stirring.
The working principle of LF ladle refining furnace is to use electric arc heating to produce high alkalinity reducing slag, carry out smelting reactions such as deoxidation, desulfurization, alloying of molten steel, and remove inclusions.
Blow argon and stir from the bottom of the ladle to achieve uniform temperature and alloy composition of the molten steel. Specifically:

Arc heating: Three electrodes are used for submerged arc heating, which has low radiation, protective effect on the furnace lining, and relatively high heating efficiency.
Slag refining: Refining using white slag, which has strong reducibility. The refining effect of white slag can reduce the content of oxygen, sulfur, and inclusions in steel.
Gas stirring: Inert gas (argon) is blown into the bottom of the ladle to stir the molten steel, allowing it to fully contact the slag, promoting the refining reaction, and making the temperature of the molten steel uniform.
